BharatNet’s Requirement

BSNL, under the BharatNet programme of the Department of
Telecommunications (DoT), required a high-efficiency,
modular 60 kVA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system
with lithium-ion battery backup to support the continuous
operations of its Mini Data Centre in Dehradun. The goal was to
establish a reliable, intelligent, and long-duration power
backup solution capable of maintaining 24×7 uptime for
BharatNet’s critical digital infrastructure while ensuring full
compliance with energy efficiency and network resilience
standards.

Project Objectives

  • Establish a smart modular data center at the BharatNet facility in Dehradun to enable efficient middle-mile network management.

    • Scope of Work

  • Design & Documentation: Developed General Arrangement (GA) drawings, installation guidelines, and SOPs in line with BharatNet standards.
  • UPS Supply & Installation: Installed a high-efficiency 60 kVA UPS (80 kVA frame) with a lithium-ion battery pack designed for 60-minute backup duration.
  • Monitoring & Integration: Enabled intelligent IP monitoring through SNMP/Modbus protocols for integration with BharatNet’s Building Management System (BMS).
  • Electrical & Site Works: Prepared the UPS room, completed power cabling, earthing, and final system terminations.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Conducted Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), load test, and on-site validation before system handover.
  • Warranty & AMC: Provided a 3-year standard warranty on UPS and 10-year support for the battery system, including preventive maintenance and SLA-backed AMC up to the 10th year.
